Cream Soda Museum for VOCA 2027 is an online museum established by artist Yuichiro Nakamura in 2027 for VOCA 2027, an exhibition held at The Ueno Royal Museum. Working through a wide range of artistic pseudonyms, Nakamura critically and poetically reexamines the institution of art as it relates to the concept of authorship. Each pseudonym possesses its own distinct style, theme, and system. Through this constellation of authors and artworks, the project raises fundamental questions such as: What is an author? What constitutes an artist's identity? What does consistency mean? And ultimately, what is art? The museum aims to archive Nakamura's diverse artistic activities from April 2026 onward and present them as a single, interconnected art world. Some elements of this project are fictional.
